My Go-To as a Davis Native!. Favorite Sushi Place in Davis So FAR!!

I've heard good things about SUSHI UNLIMITED...but..

As for JUSCO..The Efficient Service for the Most part is Really FAST!! FRESH FOOD ONLY!!

QUALITY Is Off/ON depending on the day you Go. I will go to this Establishment as long as it Prevails!!

TLDR: Questionable quality of fish and meats? Wouldn't want to come back here if I came to Davis again.

I came here because for a day trip for my friend's birthday and she's like... Let's come here cause I remember this place is good! I'm like sure why not? Apparently Davis is THE way to go for AYCE sushi.

We get inside and there were only 4 parties. $14.99? Huh I should lower my expectations then. I can say that the tempura is just as good as other Tempura places.. nothing exciting but yum! I think they could have chopped the vegetables into say smaller pieces though.

We only can limit ourselves to just one sashimi order... And oh boi that salmon sashimi was luke warm when I ate it. Would not advise to get that at all. The rolls themselves were pretty mediocre since as each roll was repetitive with rice and imitation crab meat. And DON'T GET THE CHICKEN AT ALL! I took a bite out of that and it was sour. My friends gave the benefit of the doubt and said it might have been the sauce. Trust me, the sauce tasted like your standard canned gravy that was indeed not sour.

P.S. you can get ice cream if you ask for it

Overall, unless your hear for a cheap AYCE menu, don't come here. This place probably does not define good AYCE sushi at Davis.

Pretty low quality sushi and that type of fried food where everything tasted like old oil. I wasn't really expecting anything better considering the price point.

I threw up as soon as I got home. Everyone else I went with was fine though.

Giving 2 stars because given the price point, it's not horrible.

Will never go there again. It gets two stars because I was able to keep it down even though it was awful...and when I went to the bathroom, I opened the door into the middle of a bar. Hilarious.

    Let me list the ways...
    1. Sashimi - Frozen for sure. Salmon was...okay...but had a weird color...The mackerel had strange rubbery looking skin on it. Gave it a shot....but eventually had to pocket the rest to throw out just in case they charged me for not eating it... Thank god there was a one order limit per person.
    2. All of the nigiris - Again frozen fish. I also ordered the roe, which tasted very fishy...I want to say the rice was at least 1-2 days old which made me gag. Rice quality was definitely not a priority either.
    3. Rolls - Probably the best thing they had, but that doesn't say much. Not the best sample size as I only ordered one (Monkey), but couldn't bring myself to order more.
    4. Edamame - I found ice in it. Enough said.
    5. Everything on the cooked menu- Tasted like they were at least 2+ day old leftovers...

Next time I want AYCE sushi in davis....I'll smack myself. I Love Sushi wasn't too bad though...*Smack*

Wundarbar should just buy them out and make a speakeasy in that space.

The sushi has too much rice, and cold, everything filled with imitation crap meat. The raw fish seemed a lil old. They put too much sauce on the rolls. The hot food is good.
They need to upgrade their tables and chairs, when the person sitting behind pushing the back of chair, the other side feels a sudden interruption, which is very annoyed.
Yes it's cheap sushi all you can, but I rather pay more to get quality food.
